Make Your Mark

When on an assignment, every day is like an interview!

When you are out on an assignment, you not only represent Mark Staffing but you also represent yourself as a potential direct hire.  Whether or not you are interested in being hired by the particular company you are working for, being on assignment provides a fantastic opportunity to network and meet people who may be able to help you find your dream job.

To help you be the best you can be while on assignment, please keep the following in mind:

During Your Assignment

  • Ensure you are on time, or a few minutes early, for your assignment; if you are going to be late, contact your assigned Staffing Specialist at Mark Staffing as soon as possible so they can pass along the message to our client.
  • If you accept an assignment, ensure that you can fulfill the entire commitment.
  • Mark Staffing is your employer so if you encounter any difficulties while on assignment, contact your Staffing Specialist immediately to resolve the issue.
  • Should you secure a full-time position while on assignment, you are required to provide Mark Staffing with one week's notice as per the Employment Agreement you agreed to during your initial interview.
  • Cell phones should be turned off while at work; making calls, text messaging or checking voicemails during office hours is not appropriate. If you are on a break and need to use your phone, do so outside the office, not at your desk, as others may not be aware that you are on a break.
  • Personal internet use is prohibited.

Professionalism

  • Professional presentation should be maintained at all times. Blue jeans/khakis are typically not permitted, clothing should not be ripped or contain inappropriate logos/sayings and footwear should be office appropriate.  If you have any questions regarding the office dress code, speak to your Staffing Specialist.
  • Be proactive; ask for extra tasks to do when your work is complete. Be flexible; take on whatever tasks are asked of you even if they are not challenging.
  • Remain neutral and stay out of any office politics or gossip.
  • Use professional language when speaking with clients, supervisors and co-workers.
  • Never think of, or refer to yourself, as "just a temp".

Hours and Pay

  • It is your responsibility to accurately record and submit your hours worked to Mark Staffing each Friday by noon.
  • If you are required to work overtime, be sure to contact your Staffing Specialist for authorization and approval.
  • Do not discuss your compensation with anyone except your assigned Staffing Specialist.

Confidentiality

  • All work you perform and information you have access to must be kept confidential, in accordance with the Mark Staffing Confidentiality Agreement you agreed to in your initial interview.
  • All computer-related work must be for the sole purpose of completing work for the client. Using a client's computer for personal reasons is unacceptable and could result in immediate dismissal from the assignment.
