Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. --- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Researching Employers

Research plays an important role in your job seeking success. The information you gather, such as the job description, company history and industry background, will enable you to tailor your answers in an interview more effectively, to focus your resume, and to express why you should be the one to fill the job opening.

You may wish to research the following about a company:

  • is it a private or public company?

  • what does it do? what products or service(s) does it provide?

  • where is it located?

  • how many people work within the company?

  • how long has it been in operation?

  • what market share does it have?
